# Cash tokens

> Printed tokens anyone can scan and redeem.

A cash token is a voucher. You set aside an amount from one of your wallets, and
whoever holds the token can redeem it into their own Loosh wallet. It replaces
handing over cash.

## Issuing one

From a wallet, tap **Tokens**:

* **Issue cash token** — a single token, shown as a QR code with a link you can
  share.
* **Issue a batch (print)** — up to 20 tokens of the same amount, delivered as a
  print-and-cut PDF with one card per token.

Both ask for your PIN or biometric, because the money leaves your available
balance the moment you issue. It sits with the token until someone redeems it or
it expires.

  The code is shown once. Loosh never stores it, so neither the app nor support
  can recover it — save or print the PDF before you leave that screen.

## Redeeming one

Anyone can scan a token and see that it is valid and what it is worth. To claim
it they need a Loosh account, and they choose which of their wallets it lands
in. It arrives immediately and in full — there is no fee on either side.

Each token can be redeemed once, and you get a notification when yours is.

## Expiry, and getting the money back

You choose how long a token stays valid when you issue it. If nobody redeems it
by then, the amount returns to the wallet you issued it from automatically —
there is nothing to claim. The sweep runs once a day, so allow up to a day after
the expiry date for your balance to update.

You cannot cancel a token yourself once it is out, because you have no way of
knowing who is holding it. If a printed batch is lost or you think a token has
been compromised, [contact support](/docs/help/contact-support) — unredeemed tokens
can be cancelled and the money returned to you.

## Keeping track

**Tokens → My tokens** lists everything you have issued, marked **Active**,
**Redeemed**, **Expired** or **Cancelled**. Active tokens show their expiry date;
redeemed ones show who claimed them where that is known. A batch appears as one
row you can expand.
